Award winning printer Christian M. Walter recently released a new limited edition by Spanish artist Paco Pomet whose work often touching on environmental issues and human behavior. For this project, the Andalucian painter chose Habia Una Vez (Once Upon a Time), a painting that was included in last year’s Dismaland event by Banksy (covered) and kept by him for his personal collection.
The image is a great example of Pomet’s work, that is inspired by 19th and 20th century photography, and uses historical references in order to point out the mistakes of mankind. As you can see, the scene depicts a group of beachside kids gathered around some mysterious glowing material. The print was created using silkscreen on a 2mm crescent cardboard and it took the printers some 20 screens to achieve the desired color and glow effect from the original work. The finished piece measures 69 x 59cm, comes signed and numbered by the artist in an edition of only 125 examples and is available via CMWalter.
