Continuing his longstanding collaboration with Heath Ceramics (also see 2014 in LA and 2015 in SF), Brendan Monroe (interviewed) recently held a showing at their Los Angeles showroom. Entitled Formations, the focus of the new body of the work was experimenting with Heath tile’s flat clay surface as a new medium for his organic patterns. Rounding out the exhibition was a selection of framed wall hangings, large and small, along with drawings and blob sculptures, some of which can still be viewed in the gallery space.
