As we mentioned in a previous post, French photographer JR’s film “Women Are Heroes” has been selected for the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. Bringing his project full circle, the movie documents his travels around the world photographing victimized and impoverished women and then pasting them up in their own neighborhoods and towns, sending a powerful message of hope and strength.
