Studio Visits / Preview: Rosson Crow – “Bowery Boys” @ Deitch Projects

This past weekend AM had a chance to stop by Rosson Crow’s Brooklyn studio where she graciously gave us a sneak preview of her upcoming Deitch Projects show “Bowery Boys” opening on March 4th. As the name implies, Rosson uses her loose and dreamy abstract style to reinterpret the landscape & culture of downtown Manhattan. Working within the storied hall/traditions of Deitch Projects, Rosson dares to nostalgically re-imagine the “bad boy” underground streets artists of yesteryear and their impact on the urban culture of NYC. Some of […]

Recently, we stopped by Tomokazu “Matsu” Matsuyama’s (interviewed) Brooklyn studio (here) and saw one of the coolest things he’s working on – a Bearbrick with famed toy makers Medicom on their next artist series release. Their last official design collab was 2 years ago with Kaws. The bearbrick is customized with a special pattern created by Matsu. It will come in a set that has both a 400% and 100% bearbrick. Like all artist collab bearbricks, these will be hard to find as there will […]

Did you catch Nigo from a Bathing Ape in there too? […]
