Opening this Saturday (April 13th) in West Hollywood is Gregory Euclide’s first solo exhibition with his West Coast gallery Martha Otero. The artist will present fresh work consisting of landscape relief paintings along with a series of porcelain-coated steel specimens painted with Japanese sumi ink. Euclide uses a range of media to create his signature immersive landscape pieces, including both components found in nature and also artificial ones as well. Bumblebee’s street work oftentimes deals with serious issues, such as youth homelessness and environmental awareness. His most recent mural though, a 8’x40′ piece located on the corner of Melrose and Spaulding in Hollywood, CA, is of a more whimsical and personal sort. On March 22, Milk Studios in Hollywood was the site of the VIP opening preview of Charming Baker’s solo exhibition Lie Down I Think I Love You. The artist’s largest show to date explored the unpredictable nature of love through 20 paintings, as well an over-sized sculptural installation of a plastic toy passenger plane, prints, and other sculptures. Presented by the Martha Otero Gallery and opening on March 20 at 6pm is Time of Nothing, a solo exhibition by artist Jim Mangan. Organized by gallery director Julie Machado, the show presents a photographic series of work created during the artist’s part-time residence in Utah. Releasing at 9am Pacific (noon Eastern) time on Tuesday, March 19 by 1xRUN is a limited edition (of 200) print by the highly respected graffiti writer/fine artist REVOK. Titled 1313 Milwaukee and priced at $200, it is a 30″x30″ archival pigment print on hand-deckled, 300gsm water color cotton paper.
