Releases: Barry McGee – “BE@BRICKs & Apple Watch Sport Band” Set

For those that like the repeating patterns that make up a big part of Barry McGee work, here a chance to add an art object from him to your collection. This set out for preorder features a 100% and 400% BE@BRICK as well as an Apple Watch sport band from the Bay Area-based artist. Showing: Riusuke Fukahori – “Goldfish Blossoms” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

Showing through the end of this week at Joshua Liner in New York is Riusuke Fukahori’s Goldfish Blossoms. For his third and largest solo yet with the gallery, the Yokohama-based artist has produced a wide selection of his signature acrylic and resin paintings of goldfish. Upcoming: Kevin Peterson – “Wild” @ Thinkspace

Coming up on March 2nd, Thinkspace in Los Angeles will continue to show Kevin Peterson with a new exhibition entitled Wild. Known for his beautiful paintings of children passing through urban environments with their animal companions, the Houston-based painter looks to not be deviating from this formula for his new body of work. Release: Jeremy Geddes – “Seven.Seventeen” Book

On January 15th (10am Melbourne time), Jeremy Geddes (interviewed) will be releasing a book he has been working on for quite some time. Seven.Seventeen captures the past decade of the Australian artist’s work and includes many gorgeous full page spreads of some of his most iconic images. Produced in an edition of 2000, the 22cm x 30cm and 200 page hardcover will come signed and numbered for $145AUD. Recap: Okuda – “The Plastic Island” @ Mirus Gallery (Denver)

Today marks the last day of Okuda’s solo show at Denver’s Mirus Gallery entitled The Plastic Island. Including logos of corporations and brands with his signature characters in colorful compositions, the Spanish artist takes aim at the role of plastics in our consumerist society and its deleterious effects on the environment. Working with the geometric patterned style and vibrant palette that has become his trademark, the new body of work features both paintings and sculptural pieces that event incorporate actual plastic products.
