Teaser: Leslie Ditto – “Riding The Dragon” @ Copro Gallery

On March 23rd, Copro Gallery will be hosting the opening for a whole new body of work from Leslie Ditto that is based thematically on the Asian culture’s superstition, mythology, and folklore. Entitled Riding The Dragon, this series of paintings highlights her love for modern fantasy and surreal art along with her self-taught techniques gleaned from studying the “Old Masters” such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Rubens, Raphael, and Rembrandt. POW WOW ’12: Preview

Besides all the walls being beautified around industrial district of Kaka’ako in Hawaii, Loft In Space will also be opening up a gallery show tonight (6-10pm) that will put the indoor skills of each artist to the test. Besides some canvas pieces from most POW WOW participants, two other side projects will open on the second floor of the showspace. Eugene Kan of Hypebeast has curated a photography exhibition titled Day Job? and Arktip magazine has created a pop up shop specifically for the show. […]

Benefits: “Art on the Move” Auction @ White Walls

Opening tonight at the White Walls Gallery tonight in San Francisco will be a charity show benefiting the Oceanic Awareness Collaboration. POW WOW ‘ 12 / Streets: 123Klan x Slick x Flying Fortress

Across from Loft In Space, the neighboring wall was attacked by 123Klan, Slick, and Flying Fortress for some of the outdoor portion go POW WOW. Almost completed, the piece features elements specific to Hawaii like their love for shaved ice, volcanoes, and orchids to more serious topics like how Dole Pineapple has affected the indigenous people. Releases: Audrey Kawasaki – “Where I Rest” Open Edition Print

For those jonesing for an Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) print, but are overwhelmed by those with more more nimble fingers on the day of the release – here is finally an opportunity to add one to your collection easily.
