Openings: Andy Kehoe – “Strange Wanderings” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Last weekend, the Strange Wanderings of Andy Kehoe led him to the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York as his solo show opened alongside Gary Baseman’s. As you can probably imagine, with the following the two have, the space was packed with collectors, art enthusiasts, and the local artist community. Andy didn’t disappoint as he brought along paintings filled with rich autumn landscapes and woodland creatures for all to enjoy. More opening pics after the jump…

Videos: Cai Guo-Qiang – “Resplandor y Soledad” @ MUAC (Mexico City)

Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang, who recently orchestrated the New Year’s fireworks for Taipei, recently turned his attention to a different part of the world. His exhibition Resplandor y Soledad or Splendor and Solitude is currently showing at the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City (runs through March 20th), his first solo in Latin America. Showing: Zevs – “Liquidated Version” @ De Buck Gallery

We haven’t updated you on the whereabouts and works of Zevs in a while ever since his show and arrest in Hong Kong. It looks like the French street artist is currently showing at De Buck in New York with a new body of work entitled Liquidated Version. Continuing his assault on corporate identities and what they represent, the show features his signature dripping brand logos as well as other mix-media works. More photos after the jump…

Preview: “Dystopia” @ Copro Gallery

On March 19th, the Copro Gallery in Santa Monica will play host to Dystopia, a group show curated by Jon Beinart, founder of the beinArt International Surreal Art Collective. Although the array of artists includes some names we are familiar with here at AM like Brian Viveros, Laurie Lipton, and Naoto Hattori, there is also a fantastic selection of paintings from artists we are not as familiar with. Openings: Swoon – “Thekla” @ Metro Gallery

Swoon’s (interviewed) first solo exhibition in Australia closed last weekend at the Metro Gallery, but we have some pics for you of the opening for those who missed it. Entitled Thekla, the body of work, like many of the New York-based artist’s shows, included immersive installations as well as standalone pieces. It looks like Mark Dean Veca (interviewed) is tackling another pop icon for his upcoming C.O.L.A. Fellowship exhibition at the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. After revealing his version of the Kool-Aid Man in January, the LA-based artist turns his attention to Charlie the Tuna on his 50th anniversary as the mascot for Starkist Tuna. Preview: Sas & Colin Christian – “Sas + Colin” @ Opera Gallery (NY)

After being teased by the Nefertiti sculpture from Colin & Sas Christian (interviewed) for their upcoming show, we were hungry for more and hope you are too. Update: Shepard Fairey – “Revolutions” Box Sets

Remember the limited edition boxsets we told you about that will be released at the upcoming “Revolutions” show by Shepard Fairey (featured)? Now we have some photos for you of how the album cover print set is coming together. It sounds like there will be two different limited edition sets with each containing 36 signed and numbered screen prints, a sticker sheet, and a stencil in a gold leaf embossed box.
