It’s time again for another Rewind feature here on AM. Leading things off is an amazing video, Limitless, shot and cut by Selina Miles featuring the art of Sofles, Fintan Magee, Treas, Quench. Currently in Charleston, South Carolina at the Rebekah Jacob Gallery, painter Kevin E. Taylor (seen with the gallery owner below) is holding a solo exhibition entitled Inner Wilderness. For this showing, the Bay Area-based artist has presented a diverse selection of large scale work including his depictions of the natural world rendered with architectural elements as well as pieces where the animals from different paintings are in communication with each other. Basel Week Miami ’13 / Previews: “Most Oddinism” @ The Rotunda

Another exhibition to visit while in town for Art Basel Week in Miami is Most Oddinism, a group exhibition exploring the work of eight artists that got their start in the streets. Running from December 4th to 8th, the show will include Aaron De La Cruz, Christopher Derek Bruno, Ben Eine, Kenji Hirata, Otto Zitko, Patrick Martinez, Steve Powers, and Roid (seen above). David McCracken – “Diminish and Ascend” @ Sculpture by the Sea

In Bondi, Australia, at the annual Sculpture by the Sea festival, David McCracken had a piece on view entitled Diminish and Ascend. The steps made from aluminum jut out on the side of a hill facing the sea and plays with perspectives to make it look like a never-ending path into the sky. Basel Week Miami ’13 / Upcoming: colette x Alchemist “Art Drive-Thru”

If you are in town for Art Basel Week in Miami next week, you may want to stop by the pop-op shop created by French boutique store colette. Known for their previous collaborations with artists, they have teamed up with Alchemist to create a “Art Drive Thru” at 1111 Lincoln Road on the fifth floor of the Herzog & de Meuron garage (also site of the PISTON HEAD exhibition). For those on their way to this year’s Art Basel Week in Miami, you may want to check out the new Perez Art Museum Miami (formerly know as the Miami Art Museum) in a new Herzog & de Meuron designed building. Coincidentally, an artist, Ai Weiwei, that has collaborated with the Swiss architecture firm in the past will be showing at the museum. Candice Tripp & Giles Walker – “I’M NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN!” @ Black Rat Projects

Painter Candice Tripp (interviewed) and Giles Walker (known for his immersive robotic installations) have a collaborative show with a public opening scheduled this Saturday (November 30) at Black Rat Projects. IʼM NEVER SHOPPING HERE AGAIN will include individual works from the two artists like the Tripp paintings seen here as well as several collaborative installations (hinted at in the photo directly below).
