Upcoming: Aron Wiesenfeld – “New Paintings” @ Arcadia Gallery

Next month in New York, gifted painter Aron Wiesenfeld will be unveiling another set of new works (see 2011) at the Arcadia Gallery. If the painting below (The Garden), which will be part of the show, is any indication, then fans of Wiesenfeld’s dreamlike landscapes and emotive characters will want to show up for the opening on November 10th. Videos: Ai Weiwei Covers Psy’s “Gangnam Style”

It looks like Chinese contemporary artist and political dissident Ai Weiwei recently released a parody video of the viral video sensation Gangnam Style. In this cover of Psy’s smash hit, the footage alternates from actual scenes from the music video to AWW and his studio staff dancing to the song including the now-famous horse dance moves. Previews: Yuanyuan Yang – “Refracted Beings” @ Fuse Gallery

Tomorrow night, New York’s Fuse Gallery will premiere a solo exhibition from Chinese artist Yuanyuan Yang. The show entitled Refracted Beings is a taken from the Chinese word for color which also is a homonym for lust. Yang renders her painting to display this strong relationship between color and desire in her characters through a spectrum of colors refracting from their bodies. The show runs from Oct 24th to Nov. 21st so stop by and check this exhibition if you’re in town.

Releases: Snoopy Ceramic (KAWS Version)

Tomorrow at noon (Octeber 22nd Eastern time), KAWS will be releasing something for his fans out there to celebrate Halloween. Reprising his collaboration with the popular Snoopy (see 2011), the ceramic jar will be available for approximately $132 on Kawsone. Also, for all those KAWS heads out there, remember the street turned contemporary artist will be participating in another holiday next month in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a 40-foot-long balloon of his companion character.
