Art Focus: Jennifer Celio

This week’s Art Focus takes us to Long Beach, California where Jennifer Celio works with graphite on paper to create landscapes of a world where certain environmental issues have been amplified to get her message across.  Whether it is forests of cellphone tower trees, or where every house either has an oil pump or a wind turbine, her attention to detail and her clever manipulation of reality make her pieces stand out. Today is the last day to see her drawings in person at the […]

Take a look at the mini-documentary above as the Riverside-based artist “collaborates” with a robotic art car on a mural as well as discusses some of his thoughts behind the project. A look from Rone and the showcard after the jump…

Preview: Ron Mueck @ Hauser & Wirth (Savile Row, South Gallery)

At most of the art fairs that we attend, inevitably one of the eye-catching sculptures will be from Ron Mueck. His hyperrealistic works are often eerie in their detail, but not only that, the pieces are taken up a notch by being produced in large scale. Tonight, those in London can witness four of these works from the Australian sculptor themselves at Hauser & Wirth (Savile Row, South Gallery) including Still Life (2009), Drift (2009), Youth (2009) and Woman with sticks (2008). Take a look at more preview […]
