Video: Art HK 2010

Art HK 2010 recently opened their doors to over 150 galleries from all over the world to display their wares in the increasingly important cultural hub of Asia – Hong Kong. Vernissage TV was on hand to document some of the opening day action at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center as collectors from all over the region gathered to see what dealers had to offer. A late reminder for all our readers in the SF area. Tonight, Damon Soule opens a new show at the famed Bay Area art portal’s gallery – Fecal Face Dot Gallery. Unlike his last solo show, which was held at Thinkspace (covered), for this new body of work will include collaborations with Mars-1 (featured), David Choong Lee, and Oliver Vernon – something that crew has been experimenting with. Having shown in London just a few months back, Raymond Pettibon continues his European tour with a show of new works at the venerable Gladstone Gallery in Brussels. The exhibition continues on Pettibon’s themes of exploring the American psyche through images and text. His comic strip-style narratives combine stunningly rendered images in the artist’s unique style with text drawn from a number of sources, including poet William Blake, vernacular speech, and pulp magazines. The Future Tense launches itself in London this week with a showing of represented artists Katrin Fridriks, Lee Baker, Mark Webber, Tom Oldham, Joseph Loughborough, Jamie Shaw and Louis Hudson.
