Earlier this month Max Kauffman opened his solo exhibition Your Vulnerability Makes You Beautiful at Loakal Gallery in Oakland. Folk-tinged, and stylistically defined by his watercolour colour palette of brown and blue hues, Kauffman’s work within the exhibition presents subject matter of broken down houses and landscape elements reclaimed by nature. On Thursday night, September 19th, the Long Beach Museum of Art will host the opening of a new group exhibition entitled Risqué {dirty little pictures}. A couple weekends ago, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery hosted new work from Nicola Verlato (featured) & Caleb Brown entitled Pagan Pop & A Modern World collectively. Featuring two surreal paintings styles that pair nicely together, the exhibition allowed fans to look into the imaginative minds of these two artists.
