Last Thursday evening, Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco hosted the opening of the 2nd Annual Supersonic Electric Invitational to a packed house with many of the 32 artists in attendance. The show is curated by Zach Tutor, who founded and runs the Tumblr-based contemporary art blog Supersonic Electronic, by choosing some of his favorite artists who he felt are innovative, dynamic and compelling. Releases: Mark Ryden – “Wood Lincoln” Serigraph

It seems our friends at Pressure Printing have been working on a special project with Mark Ryden. Entitled Wood Lincoln, this reoccurring character by Mr. Ryden’s work comes to life in a beautiful 14-color serigraph that comes in a hand carved walnut veneered wood frame measuring 33″ x 27.5″. It’s time to start winding down our Basel Week Miami coverage here on AM with another look at the PULSE art fair (highlights here). We’ve already shared photos from a couple booths there (Joshua Liner & Jonathan LeVine), and there is a look at a third booth – LeBasse Projects. Building on his successful showing there in 2011 (covered), Japanese artist Haroshi will be returning to the Jonathan LeVine Gallery for another solo show (opening January 12th). Known for his increasingly complex sculptural works created from skateboards, he’ll be bringing a series of pieces with him collectively entitled Virtual Reality.
