Update: Candice Tripp

Painter Candice Tripp has been working on the image for her next print release. As you can see, this screenprint will be generous in size and will include a subset of hand-finished editions. It will be produced through Black Rat Projects, where the UK-based artist will have a solo showing in June. She has also been working on some illustrations for a story written by Gogol Bordello. Coming up on the ides of March, Camille Rose Garcia (interviewed) will signing her new book, Snow White (Published by Harper Design, on sale starting February 28, 2012), at the Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles. Handling this fairytale with the same loving care as she did with her Alice in the Wonderland publication, she once again brings new characters into her world, visually translating them with her special imagery and infusing some of the darker elements of the Grimm Brothers’ classic back into the fold. Over the weekend, the Merry Karnowsky gallery held an impressive exhibition showcasing new work of four very talented female artists – Aiko, Deedee Cheriel, Lindsey Way and Tara Mcpherson. Openings: Matthew Bone, Soey Milk, Bonnie Reid, Christine Wu @ La Luz de Jesus

Last weekend, four artists presented a selection of their work at the La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles. For this showing, Matthew Bone blended some elements of pop culture with his provocative imagery, Bonnie Reid explored the darker sides of childhood in her work, Christine Wu introduced flickering images of her characters in flux, while Soey Milk painted her ladies holding symbols of agony and pleasure. Releases: Jeremy Geddes – “Cluster” Print

Tomorrow, February 6th, Jeremy Geddes (interviewed) will be releasing his Cluster painting (destined for Jonathan LeVine at the end of the year) as a print. Audrey Kawasaki for Hint Mints
