Currently available at 1xRUN is this print, Episode 9, from Glenn Barr for $85. If you remember, this image is based on an original from his show at La Luz de Jesus back in June. Jeff Soto (interviewed) is currently in Lyon, France prepping for the Les Enfants TERRIBLES satellite exhibition during Lyon Biennale week. While there, he is continuing to exercise his renewed love for mural work with this feline piece in a nearby park, which was inspired by a local chat (cat) that was hanging out as well as something for the local kids. Tonight at Roq La Rue, Japanese artist Yumiko Kayukawa will be introducing a new body of work in her home city entitled Coming Home, which will also be her first solo at the gallery since 2002. The Seattle-based painter has been working to expand her narrative since her show in San Francisco in March (covered) and continues her fascination with her female protagonists and their animal friends presented in complex compositions. It looks like gifted painter Joe Sorren’s (featured) has painted another wall in his home city (see the previous The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux), this time in collaboration with Lyle Motley. This wonderful new piece entitled Galápagos is located in Flagstaff at 209 Benton Avenue (La Famiglia Foto) is perhaps a warmup to his show coming up next month at Dorothy Circus in Italy.
