Streets: Jeff Soto (France)

Jeff Soto (interviewed) is currently in Lyon, France prepping for the  Les Enfants TERRIBLES satellite exhibition during Lyon Biennale week. While there, he is continuing to exercise his renewed love for mural work with this feline piece in a nearby park, which was inspired by a local chat (cat) that was hanging out as well as something for the local kids. Tonight at Roq La Rue, Japanese artist Yumiko Kayukawa will be introducing a new body of work in her home city entitled Coming Home, which will also be her first solo at the gallery since 2002. The Seattle-based painter has been working to expand her narrative since her show in San Francisco in March (covered) and continues her fascination with her female protagonists and their animal friends presented in complex compositions. Teaser: “Impetus” @ University of Arizona

Tucson will be getting a dose of the New Contemporary Art Movement tomorrow, September 8th, when Impetus opens at the University of Arizona School of Art. Streets: Joe Sorren

It looks like gifted painter Joe Sorren’s (featured) has painted another wall in his home city (see the previous The Veridic Gardens of Effie Leroux), this time in collaboration with Lyle Motley.
