Upcoming: Jose Parla – “Anonymous Vernacular” @ Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery

On April 25th, Jose Parla will be returning to Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery in New York for another solo show featuring a series of new paintings and reworked found objects. Entitled Anonymous Vernacular, the new body of work will include pieces that combine a collage of fragmented advertising posters he has collected with his signature calligraphic urban scrawl. Showing: Migrate Art – ‘Multicolour’ @ Cork Street Galleries/Phillips (London)

Following a two week run at Cork Street Galleries, Migrate Art‘s Multicolour group show has now transferred to Phillips‘ exhibition space ahead of the works being auctioned on Thursday in aid of organizations working to help those affected by the ongoing global refugee crisis. The show brings together an impressive array of 31 artists including Turner Prize winners Anish Kapoor, Rachel Whiteread, Jeremy Deller, Mark Wallinger and Richard Deacon. The Calais Jungle encampment in northern France was at one point home to over 7,000 refugees and migrants. […]

Even casual fans of KAWS knew a pink version of the BFF plush was coming at some point judging from its prominence int the Dior campaigns. Well, that time is almost upon us with the release set for tomorrow (4/10/19) at noon (EST) on the Brooklyn-based artist’s website – KAWSONE. Those who miss out can try their luck with the DDT store. Earlier this week, KAWS : ALONG THE WAY opened at the Hong Kong Contemporary Art (HOCA) Foundation, a survey looking back at one decade of the American artist’s work. Continuing a project that has toured Asia starting last year in Korea (covered) which moved on to Taiwan (covered) earlier this year, KAWS will unveiling another large scale inflatable version of his Companion figure in Hong Kong on March 22nd. A couple weeks ago, we shared a mural by Shepard Fairey (interviewed) that he recently completed for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii.
