Upcoming: Bumblebeelovesyou – “Bee Yourself” Popup Show

On January 23rd (6 – 9 pm), Bumblebeelovesyou will be holding a popup show in Los Angeles entitled Bee Yourself in Los Angeles (4621 West Washington Blvd).  This will be the first solo show from the LA-based street artist and will continue the socially and environmentally conscious direction often seen in his work. Of course, there will be plenty of riffs on his namesake seen in his imagery. The exhibition runs until January 26 with regular hours of 12 – 8 pm. Discuss Bumblebeelovesyou here.

Upcoming: D*Face Show & Book Release @ Stephen Webster (Beverly Hills)

On February 5th (5-8pm), Stephen Webster’s Beverly Hills flagship boutique and gallery will be hosting a new show from D*Face (interviewed) as well as a book signing. For the US launch of The Art of D*Face: One Man and His Dog, the UK-based street artist will be releasing the standard edition of the monograph as well as a limited edition box set (edition of 50) which will include a six color screen print. Openings: Saber – “The Ugly American” @ The Outsiders (London)

After Newcastle, LA-based graffiti artist SABER (interviewed) launched the second installment of his first European solo show The Ugly American at The Outsiders in London. Suffering from epilepsy and being denied healthcare, the politically engaged artist decided to voice some issues and battles for universal care by attacking and transforming iconic images of US and Union Jack flags, using found packing crates. Saber’s abstract paintings, made with layered collages and painted paper, combine harmoniously to form a delicate texture with his strong and powerful sharp signature lines.
