AM was in Sheffield last weekend for the official opening of Kid Acne’s three month run of the Kill Your Darlings solo exhibition at Sheffield Museum’s Millenium Gallery. The exhibition is his first solo show in his now-base of Sheffield, and as it’s hard to walk around the city without catching a glimpse of his outdoor murals and graffiti, it made a nice change to see some of his work in an indoor setting in South Yorks. Streets: Shepard Fairey – Manhattan

Earlier this month, Shepard Fairey came and visited the Big Apple to work on a few projects (more on that later). In between his indoor sessions, he invited AM to tag along while he worked to beautify some legal spots in Manhattan. AM’s regular Instagrammer SazaJane is taking a break this week from her London street art round-up, so as we were in Sheffield this weekend for Kid Acne’s opening, we bring you a northern version. We checked out some of the classic Acne slogan based murals that make up part of the Sheffield scenery, along with pieces, throwies and tags by Ema, D-Rot, Phlegm, Motfu, Dscreet and Osk amongst others. Usugrow and fellow Shinganist artist, Toshikazu Nozaka recently reprised their 2-man show at Melbourne’s Backwoods Gallery. The historic Art in the Streets exhibition is drawing to a close soon with the last day scheduled for August 8th. For street art and graffiti fans out there who haven’t made the trek over to the MOCA yet, make sure you put it on your to do list as you will regret not visiting. Following a poster campaign which focused on the subject of lost superheroes, Australia-born artist Anthony Lister (interviewed) has arrived in Los Angeles for a unique gallery exhibition which will take place this coming Friday at the HVW8 gallery. Do these two Italian street magicians never stop? After making a pit stop at the FAME Festival and the R.I.P.Arte Festival, Blu and Ericailcane are at it again – this time with a collaboration piece. This looks like they are taking aim at a popular target – politician, bankers, and corporate types. The octopus looks to be by Ericailcane and the rest by Blu.
