One of the must-see satellite events of this year’s Basel Week Miami was definitely a solo show by Jose Parla that is on view at YoungArts from the 29th of November until the 15th of December. Releases: Vhils x Underdogs Edition

On December 7th (4pm GMT), Vhils (filmed) will be releasing a super limited edition through Underdogs. Produced in a run of 12, the piece seems to have some dimensional qualities to it, mirroring the Portuguese artist’s studio and public works. The Bogota and Los Angeles-based Fabien Castanier Gallery used Basel Week Miami as an opportunity to show their roster of urban artists to the art-thirsty crowd in Wynwood with a popup exhibition. Displayed in two large spaces in the vibrant neighborhood, the exhibition also served as a teaser of what they will are planning for their upcoming Miami gallery location scheduled to open next year. Basel Week Miami ’16: Juxtapoz Clubhouse

One of the venues jam-packed with goodness during Basel Week Miami was the Juxtapoz Clubhouse, a special project in conjunction between the magazine and Mana Urban Arts Project. The immersive artist retreat and exhibition space in the Wynwood District features collaborations with different artists, galleries and creatives. Streets: Lonac (West Palm Beach)

Finally getting to paint in the US for the very first time, Lonac recently finished his largest mural to date. His newest piece I lost my shoe when I saw you is now adorning a four story building in centerl West Palm Beach as the biggest mural produced for the Canvas Festival. It looks like Shepard Fairey (featured) has just completed one of the murals he had planned for Basel Week Miami. Entitled Fruits Of Our Labor, the wall at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center features Shep’s distinctive imagery and satire. Upcoming: Lazarides’ Banksy Print Gallery @ Mondrian Hotel (London)

Tomorrow (December 2nd) in London, Lazarides will be opening a Banksy Print Gallery at the Mondrian Hotel. Specializing in selling limited editions from the infamous street artist on the secondary market, the space in South Bank will also feature a collection of photographs as well as ephemera from that period of time. Basel Week Miami ’16 / Releases: KAWS – “PIRANHAS WHEN YOU’RE SLEEPING” Print @ Pace Prints

Those who walked by the Pace Prints booth at Art Basel Miami Beach (covered) may have been surprised to see a new print available from KAWS. Entitled PIRANHAS WHEN YOU’RE SLEEPING, the image is taken from a piece the Brooklyn-based artist painted for a show back in 2014 in the Caribbean (covered). Previews: Mr Jago & Eric Haacht – “Working With Explosives” @ Fluorescent Smogg

Fluorescent Smogg at a location in Bristol will shortly be opening a new two-man show with Mr Jago (seen above) and Eric Haacht (seen directly below) entitled Working With Explosives. The exhibition runs from 1st to 4th December and each artist will be showing eight new paintings. Both bodies of work have their roots in abstract expressionism and feature a rich impasto application of paint, but from these foundations the two artists have taken their art in markedly different directions. Coinciding with having his work as a part of Jonathan LeVine Gallery’s A Conversation Between Friends (covered) at the Juxtapoz Clubhouse during Basel Week Miami, Ludo (interviewed) just announced his upcoming print release. Scheduled for Wednesday, November 30th, at 6pm (Parisian time, GMT+1) via his website EnjoyTheViolence.com, Victory is actually one of his works featured in the show. The image depicts the infamous Winged Victory of Samothrac or Nike of Samothrace upgraded with a recognizable twist by the French artist.
