Streets: Augustine Kofie & Matt W. Moore (San Francisco)

While in San Francisco for his solo show (covered), Augustine Kofie (featured) found time to collaborate with Matt W. Moore on a wall mural. Kofie’s abstract and geometric-based post-graffiti style melded well with Moore’s vector-based so-called retro graffiti aesthetic. For those who feel themselves gravitating towards this type of abstract street work and are interested in the continual evolvement of graffiti, you will have to pay attention to an upcoming event during Art Basel Week Miami. Kofie and Moore will part of a mural installation project entitled In […]

Streets: ABOVE – “It Takes Two To Tango” (Miami)

ABOVE (interviewed), whose contest for his new PASSPORT book is still ongoing here at AM, is continuing to hit up walls in Miami in preparation for his showing with White Walls at the SCOPE fair during Art Basel Week. As you can see, this new piece entitled It Takes Two To Tango, when taken in context with another mural we posted last week, shows the new themes he is working for this new exhibition. More photos after the jump…

Preview: Jorge Rodriguez-Gerada @ Galería Ignacio de Lassaletta

Cuban American artist Jorge Rodriguez-Guerada, known for his large scale charcoal photorealistic portraits on buildings since the 90s, will be presenting a new solo show (catalogue) at Galería Ignacio de Lassaletta, Barcelona on November 24th. The body of work will consist of a new collection of “Urban Analogies” made of charcoal drawings on 250 years old walls surfaces and “Memorylithics” sculptures using antique architectural elements. More preview images and video teaser after the jump…

Streets: Blu (Buenos Aires)

For fans who can’t get enough of his work, you are in luck. Italian street savant, Blu, has just painted another politically charged mural (you may remember a recent timely wall he created for Greece) in Buenos Aires featuring a mass of people blindfolded by colors of the Argentine national flag. In the back, there appears to be a dark figure wearing a presidential sash and a suit and tie. More photos after the jump from BA Street Art.

Streets: World Roundup (Nov 14 – Nov 20)

For this week’s world roundup of street work, Miami continues to be a hotpot as Art Basel Miami Week gets inexorably closer and closer. This newest piece is from the UK-based Eine who used some borrowed paint from ABOVE for this piece. Look after the jump for more walls from Jesse Geller and Kunle Martins (Miami), Invader (Paris), Kislow (Ukraine), Cassette Lord (England), Aaron De La Cruz (San Francisco),  Snyder (California), Olek (Poland), Gaia (France), Jaz, and Herbert Baglione (Mexico).

Basel Week Miami ’11 / Streets: Andrew Schoultz (Part i)

The San Francisco-based Andrew Schoultz is currently braving the heat in Miami working on a massive mural for Primary Flight that will take what sounds like over two weeks to complete. Seeing as this is only Day 6, fans heading over for Art Basel Week have much to look forward for when this insanely detailed and intricate wall is complete. While in town, make sure you stop by the Marx & Zavattero (site of Andrew’s solo in 2010) booth at PULSE to see some of […]

3D Joe and Max x Reebok – World’s Largest 3D Street Artwork

Yesterday in London’s West India Quays, Canary Wharf, on Guinness World Records Day, Reebok CrossFit has teamed up London-based street art duo 3D Joe and Max to complete what will go down as the world’s largest and longest 3D street artwork ever (for now). The deceptively realistic piece measures 1,160.4 metres square and is 106.5m long, beating the previous 892.15metre square record set by China’s Qi Xinghua, and will remain on display for the rest of today. In-progress photos after the jump, but also check out some videos […]

Streets: Escif (France)

A while back, we gathered some photos of murals that Escif painted while in Niort, France, for the 1st edition of the Festival Le 4eme Mur (The 4th Wall).  Apparently there was one wall that we missed that could arguably be the most intriguing of the bunch from the Spanish street artist – a ghost motif that we have seen before from him, this time drifting slowly away from the body of of an animal as it dies… More photos after the jump…

Streets / Teaser: EVOL @ Pictures on Walls

Hitting up London ahead of his showing at Pictures On Walls on December 1st, German artist EVOL installed some his distinctive work at Smithfield Market. Featuring his uncanny ability to transform urban objects into tiny cityscapes, this latest street intervention will only fuel the fires of fans in the UK as EVOL and full supporting cast of artists take over POW with their upcoming show. More photos at Street Art London and after the jump…

Streets: Shepard Fairey – La Brea Mural (Completed)

Last week, AM stopped by for a visit with Shepard Fairey (featured) and the OBEY crew as they started work on the La Brea mural. The huge wall that wrapped around the former Continental Graphic’s building was created in association with the District La Brea group show (covered) at MK2 Projects. We went back for a second look at the completed piece the other day and to capture some images for you. Take a look at the photo set from our ©Carlos Gonzalez after the jump…
