Teaser: Ryan McGinley – “Life Adjustment Center” @ Ratio3

Get ready San Francisco because one of the art world’s leading young photographers is coming to your city at the end of October.  That’s right, Ryan McGinley’s next solo exhibition will take place at Ratio 3, opening on Oct. 29.  As with all McGinley shows, it will be highly anticipated and it will be huge.  Stay tuned for more information.

Fame Fest ’10: Slinkachu

Probably one of the last artists (see other artists here) to stop by Grottaglie before the Fame Festival opening next weekend is street miniature photographer Slinkachu. The London-based artist worked his magic with his street installations in the Italian town that would probably go unnoticed if you didn’t know where to look. Videos: JR – “Women Are Heroes” @ Nuart 2010

As we mentioned last month, this year’s Nuart festival will be fast upon us. Along with a fantastic lineup including Vhils, Blu, ROA, Dolk, Ericailcane, Evol, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Sten & Lex, M-City, and Dotmasters, it has now been announced that JR will be showing his “Women Are Heroes” film in conjuntion with the festival. There will be three screenings at Stavanger’s main cinema SF Kino, scheduled on Sept 15-17 at the moment. Discuss JR here.

Urban Art Photo Contest

Urban Art Core recently announced the winners of their “Urban Art Photo Contest” after going through over 500 entries. With two other judges, Luna Park and RJ from Vandalog, the winner of the contest was none other than the multi-talented Eelus, who is coincidentally preparing for his upcoming show at Brooklynite.
