Black Rat Projects in London recently hosted shooting@earth, a three-day event running from 5 to 7 May which launched @earth, the new photo-essay by Peter Kennard, assisted by Tarek Salhany. Some of you may remember Tim O’Brien from his popular take on Charlie Brown for the Monster? exhibition (covered) a while back. Unfortunately, the piece later ended up being the target of the notoriously zealous estate of Charles Schultz. Bay Area-based Clare Rojas will be signing her new book, Everything Flowers, at Park Life next Friday (May 6th). The hardcover, coming in at 96 pages, features much of her folk art-inspired paintings and is a must have for fans of the Mission School artist. Capping off an awesome Armory week opening at Bryce Wolkowitz, José Parlá & Standard New York held an intimate signing for the hometown fans. Held at the exclusive Boom Boom Room roof top lounge, fans enjoyed breathtaking views while they hung out at “José’s corner”. AM recently got to attend a book signing at the David Zwirner gallery and catch Marcel Dzama’s book signing session. Held on a sunday afternoon, we caught up with Marcel as he graciously spoke and signed books for those that attended. The solo exhibition Due Date by Brian Adam Douglas (interviewed) opened on Thursday 9 March to a full house at London’s Black Rat Projects. Douglas himself was fine form throughout the evening, chatting with visitors and signing copies of his new book, Paper cuts, published by Drago. Among the guests, AM spotted artists Peter Kennard, Matt Small (interviewed) and Giles Walker.
