Opening tonight at Fecal Face Dot Gallery in San Francisco is Fish-Work, a showing of images from photographer and fisherman Corey Arnold. The Portland based artist, who splits his time between capturing photographs and fish, will be offering a body of new work harvested from his recent three month fishing excursion in Europe, coupled with some older images from his seven year stint aboard the crab boat “Rollo” on the Bearing Sea. We caught a glimpse of the Hell’s Half Acre (covered) catalogue a while back on Conor Harrington (interviewed) blog, but the official release had not happened yet at that time. AM favorite Fuco Ueda has been off US soil for a while now, but she has still been producing exquisite artwork. For those of us that havn’t had the chance to visit Japan to see her efforts, Fuco has decided to release a book named “Lucid Dream” containing works from 1995-2011. Our friend Roger Gastman has been a busy boy. First he was the consulting producer for Exit Through the Gift Shop, then he curated the Sanrio anniversary art show, and later in 2011, he’ll be helping the MOCA to curate their Art in the Streets exhibition. It seems like Arkitip has been involved in some pretty cool projects recently including the Andrew Schoultz show at their space in LA and the recent Jose Parla x Incase releases. A couple weeks ago, Marion Peck along with husband Mark Ryden hosted a book signing for Peck’s first fine art monograph, Animal Love Summer, at Sloan Fine Art in New York.
