Jeff Koons Rabbit in Covent Garden (London)

Apparently, a 53-foot inflatable rabbit found shelter inside London’s Covent Garden for a little while. Courtesy of one of the biggest Pop artists working today, Jeff Koons, the familiar rabbit is part of the Tate Modern’s current exhibition “Pop Life: Art in a Material World.” It is a floating replica of a figure that was produced in stainless steel in 1986.  That sculpture is currently on display at the Tate. More pictures after the jump…

As an added bonus, Liz provided the Baby Tattooville guests with their own clay, allowing them to create their own personal mini works of art. Openings: Swoon & Ben Wolf – “Squinches and Pendentives” @ Urban Art Info

Fresh off their stint from Norway at this year Nuart Festival (covered), Swoon (Interviewed) and Ben Wolf stopped off in Berlin for a show at Urban Art Info Gallery. The show “Squinches and Pendentives” was held in UAI’s large gallery space which allowed the artists to really showcase their styles. The space allowed Ben to build his impressive and self reflective installations/sculptures. Swoon also did her part and effortlessly integrated her always touching figures into Ben’s complex urban-themed installation. It was a fun night as […]

A pretty major exhibition, “Pop Life,” is opening this week (October 1st) at the Tate Modern. Among the artists represented will be Tracey Emin, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst (video of his search for identical twins for this exhibition after the jump), […]

Behind the Scenes: Scott Musgrove Bronzes

Here’s a first look at a pretty exciting project Scott Musgrove is working on with the Metalphysic Studio bronze foundry in Arizona. Look at these massive clay sculpts for what appear to be two pretty large-scale sculptures. Not sure when these be ready but maybe for his May 2010 show at Jonathan Levine? One can only hope. More images after the jump.

Preview: Takashi Murakami – “Self-Portraits” @ Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery (Paris)

In a couple weeks, Takashi Murakami will be opening his solo show at Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris entitled “Takashi Murakami Paints Self Portraits.”  Murakami has been known to paint “self-portraits” in the past including his alter egos like Mr. DOB, Inochi, Mr. Pointy, Tan Tan Bo and Oval, but this time expect to see a set of self-portraits featuring the artist accompanied by his favorite characters. We especially are looking forward to the supposedly large painting “HIROPON, Me, And My Lonesome Cowboy,” where he is […]
