Openings: Michael De Feo – “A Pocket Full Of Posies” @ Rush Arts Gallery

Last week, Rush Arts Gallery welcomed in a set of new paintings from Michael De Feo, his first solo in New York in more than 10 years. A Pocket Full of Posies from the man famously known for his iconic flower motif, oftentimes painted illegally on the streets, is somewhat of a departure artistically for him but makes sense as he explores his chosen subject in a more painterly fashion. Take a look at more photos from the opening below and head over to the […]

Streets: Saber x Vans the Omega (Istanbul)

After sharing photos with you from Turkey just at the end of last month from the Pera Museum, we bring you back to Istanbul for another event that you may be interested in. The Meeting of Allstars aims to get together world famous graffiti artists and local writers to paint together and celebrate the art of urban calligraphy. One of the standout walls will surely be this collaboration between the Los Angeles-based SABER (interviewed) and Australia’s Vans the Omega. Head over to the event’s website for more […]

Openings: Shepard Fairey x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle Launch (NYC)

Last week, we shared some photos with our readers of Shepard Fairey’s (featured) new mural in NYC for the L.I.S.A. Project. During his time in New York, he also hosted the official NYC launch of his signature design for this year’s Hennessy V.S Limited Edition artist bottle at ARENA. While there, Fairey was happy to share a drink with the Big Apple and drop some hotness as he spun a set along with DJ Mick. Take a look at more photos from the event below… Discuss Shepard […]

Previews: David Choong Lee – “Cosmic Dust” @ Luna Rienne Gallery

On September 16th, the Luna Rienne Gallery in San Francisco will play host to the opening for Cosmic Dust, a solo from David Choong Lee. The new body of work will be somewhat of a departure for the locally based artist as he moves away from including portraiture in his imagery. The wholly abstract paintings will feature patterns and organic components that seem to reference alien worlds. No word yet whether there will be installations like the amazing two-story assemblages he created for the Grand Hyatt SF in Union […]

Openings: Adam Neate – “Dimensionalism” @ Elms Lester

After two years, UK-based artist Adam Neate’s (interviewed) has returned to London with a new solo Dimensionalism at Elms Lester (showing until the 18th of October). Playing with perspective, painted shadows, space and sculptural form, the artist is pushing further his exploration of 3D paintings. As a result, the featured artworks seem to interact with the public when shifting the viewing angle. Take a look at more photos from the opening below… Photo credit: Butterfly. Previews: Dave Kinsey – “Cushion of Memory” @ Library Street Collective

Continuing to bring great art to Detroit, the Library Street Collective will be welcoming in Dave Kinsey (featured) for a showing opening on September 27th entitled Cushion of Memory. His work has become more abstract of late and certainly, the influences of living near the Sequoia National Park can be seen more and more from the wider vantage point and landscape views of his composition. Pulling textures, tones, and patterns from the surrounding environment (trees, plants, rocks, the sky), Kinsey’s imagery in this new body […]

Consisting of shows, lectures, workshops and round table talks, the participants are artists, organizers of street art events and gallery curators. The exhibition includes an indoor portion, presenting work and installations by participating artists, as well as […]
