Releases: Shepard Fairey – “Ai Weiwei” Print

It looks like Shepard Fairey (featured) has created a new print as a tribute to Ai Weiwei ahead of the Chinese artist’s show opening soon at the Brooklyn Museum. The portrait is created with Shep’s signature style and features a gash on the activist-artist’s scalp alluding to his time in the Chinese police’s hands back in 2010. Upcoming: Tristram Lansdowne – “Provisional Futures” @ Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery

This Friday, March 21st, the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery in Ontario, Canada will be opening a new show from Tristram Lansdowne (interviewed). Entitled Provisional Futures, the exhibition will include a series of fresh works from the Toronto-based painter that further explores his practice of melding architectural forms with botanical & geological structures, perhaps pointing to the future. On May 17th, the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angelels will be presenting a new body of work from Greg Simkins (featured). Also known as Craola to his fans, the locally-based artist will be returning to the showspace (see 2012 & 2013) with a fresh batch of paintings featuring his surreal cast of animal characters. Italian artist Zed 1 recently opened a solo show at the Galo Art Gallery in Turin, Italy, that will be on view until 19th of April. Infusion at Roq la Rue opened on Thursday, March 6th to a packed audience. The show’s goal was to infuse the gallery with talent that had not been seen in the gallery previously.
