The Luggage Store Gallery in San Francisco is currently showing a visual art exhibition entitled The Back Room featuring works by the artists who exhibited with the artist run multidisciplinary arts organization in the past. Curated by Rich Fonseca Daigle, the list of artists include mostly bay area artists such as Thomas Campbell, Bill Daniels, Cheryl Dunn, Date Farmers, Margaret Kilgallen, Chris Johanson, Ari Marcopolous, Ace Morgan, NeckFace, Stephan Powers, Dave Schubert, Ed Templeton, Robyn Twomey and Tobin Yelland. Including photographs, objects, paintings, drawings and products that use the artworks of these creatives, the show is a overview of the wider range of styles and mediums that the non-profit based in the Tenderloin is representing and supporting. The work in this exhibition is either from past shows anywhere between 1991-present, were donated to raise funds for this institution, or were gifted by the artist. The show opened on the February 7th and will stay on view until March 28th, so make sure you check out this retrospective if you’re in SF.
