Openings: Risk – “Metallic Tissue” @ Fabien Castanier

Over the weekend, Fabien Castanier Gallery in Los Angeles hosted an exhibition featuring new work by Kelly “RISK” Graval (interviewed) curated by Roger Gastman. Drawing from a career spanning over 30 years, the legendary hometown graffiti artist has created a diverse body of work collectively entitled Metallic Tissue. Releases: How & Nosm Mono Silkscreens from Pace Prints

Spanish-born, German-raised and New York City based identical twin brothers How & Nosm (Raoul and Davide Perre), have been spending most of the last three months doing a residency at Watanabe Press in Brooklyn, working on big project with Pace Prints. Upcoming: Gregory Euclide – “Whose Land We Laid Down & Wiped Away (Mine to Make / Bury to Forget)” @ StolenSpace

On November 7th, Whose Land We Laid Down & Wiped Away (Mine to Make / Bury to Forget) will open at the StolenSpace Gallery in London featuring the work of Gregory Euclide. Utilizing his signature mixed media technique, the paintings with strong sculptural elements will examine man’s relationship with nature via his imagery depicting both pastoral scenes as well as man-made structures. Previews: Jeff Soto & Maxx242 – “Fire Within” @ Bunsen Goetz Gallery

This Saturday, November 9th, the Bunsen Goetz Gallery in Nuremberg, Germany will be hosting a two person show from Jeff Soto (interviewed) and Maxx242. The two friends and studio mates, who recently travelled together to Luxembourg (covered), will be returning to Europe with new works playing with “themes of love, sexuality, and spirituality” for Fire Within. In association with the exhibition, the two artists from Riverside, California (Nuremberg’s sister city) will be giving a talk at the German-American Institute at Nuremberg on Thursday, November 7th at 7 pm. Studio Visit / Previews: Mary Iverson – “Sunk” @ Davidson Galleries

We recently visited Mary Iverson’s studio as she finished up works for her Sunk exhibition, opening on November 7th at the Davidson Galleries in Seattle. After receiving an art grant, Mary traveled to Yosemite National Park in order to gain some source material for her wonderful landscape paintings. Streets: ESPO (Copenhagen) – Part 1

It looks like ESPO (featured) is back in Copenhagen (see 2011) for an artist talk and the European premiere of his documentary film A Love Letter For You. Along with this event presented by V1 Gallery and held at (Kunsthal Charlottenborg. Nyhavn 2. Copenhagen K – Denmark) on November 5th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Steve Powers is also in town to paint a new large-scale mural in front of the U.S. Embassy. Studio Visits: Dennis McNett – “Temple of Wolfbat” @ Known Gallery

AM recently stopped by the Wolfbat Studios of Dennis McNett. The Brooklyn-based artist is getting ready for his solo exhibition entitled Temple of Wolfbat at Known Gallery in Los Angeles that is set to open on November 16th. While there, we got a sneak peek of what’s to come for this big Los Angeles exhibition. Ryan McGinness x SPiN Standard Glow-Pong Table

Recently, Ryan McGinness unveiled a custom black light ping-pong table that he designed for SPiN Standard at The Standard, Downtown LA. The New York-based artist stuck true to his graphic style for this custom table, utilizing his trademark iconography and design aesthetics to convey a complex and poetic concept. Openings: KAWS @ Mary Boone Gallery (Chelsea)

Continuing his spate of strong showings recently, KAWS opened one of two shows over the weekend in New York at the Mary Boone Gallery in Chelsea. For this space, the Brooklyn-based artist created three new wooden sculptures, over eighteen feet high, in a style first seen in Switzerland for a showing for Basel week. These three monumental wooden companions were displayed along with three eight foot tondos.
