Back in November, we stopped by Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan, to check out shows by two fresh, talented artists – Vietnam native Diem Chau, and Kappao from Korea. Showings: HuskMitNavn – “One Of These Days” @ V1 Gallery

After being introduced the intriguing outdoor works of HuskMitNavn during Komafest (covered) last year, we were curious to see how his work translated to the gallery setting. A showing at the V1 Gallery entitled One Of These Days gave us this opportunity to see some new drawings and paintings from the Danish artist in his characteristic colorful, humorous, and cartoonish style. Releases: Brett Amory – “Bob’s Donuts” Print

Later this afternoon (around 3pm PST), Brett Amory (featured) will be releasing a new print through Spoke Art on their online store. Entitled Bob’s Donuts, the image is taken from a painting from his showing at the Sandra Lee Gallery (covered) last year. Openings: David Shrigley – “Signs” @ Anton Kern Gallery

Enchanted as we were by David Shrigley’s retrospective last year in London (covered here & here), we were excited to see something new from him for his solo at that opened last week at the Anton Kern Gallery in New York. Entitled Signs, the paintings and sculptural works featured the UK-artist’s well-known witticisms and playful nature. The exhibition runs through February 19th so head over if you are in town. Over the weekend, the Jonathan LeVine Gallery hosted all new work from Aakash Nihalani alongside the solo from Haroshi (covered). Preview: “Nocturnes: Romancing the Night” @ National Arts Club

Tomorrow night (January 17th), the National Arts Club in New York will be opening their Nocturnes: Romancing the Night group exhibition. The genre “nocturne painting” is attributed to James Abbott McNeill Whistler who used the term to describe paintings that depicted night scenes or subjects blurred in a veil of twilight.
