Releases: Cleon Peterson x Modernica Daybed

On July 14th, Modernica will be releasing a daybed they designed with Cleon Peterson. Limited to an edition of 100, each one will be signed and numbered by the artist known for his brutal and provocative imagery. Jonathan LeVine Gallery just released a new print from AEC of Interesni Kazki (interviewed) entitled Falling In Love or Sixth Sense of Pedro. The image is taken from one of the paintings from their show at the gallery earlier this year (covered) and features the surrealistic imagery the duo are known for. Last week, KAWS announced his latest project, a collaboration with Nancy Gonzalez on a handbag collection. Continuing his foray into the fashion world (also see Uniqlo & Mira Mikati), the Brooklyn-based artist lent his iconic double x’s to the Colombian designer known for her handbags of exotic leathers and brightly colored hues. Releases: Eddie Martinez x Case Studyo – “Untitled” Handwoven Rug

Tomorrow at noon on their website, Case Studyo will be releasing a handwoven woolen rug based on one of Eddie Martinez’s paintings from 2015. Produced in an edition 12 + 4 AP, the tapestry is sized at 210 cm x 140 cm and comes with a signed and numbered certificate by the artist. In May, we shared with you the amazing takeover by JR (interviewed) at the famous Louvre in Paris where he pasted over the iconic pyramid using photographs of the surrounding structures. Looking at the right angle, it appeared that the pyramid in the main courtyard “disappears” from sight. Who better to collaborate with next in an inception-like project than with China’s disappearing man – Liu Bolin? If you are a fan of Takashi Murakami and have visited Japan in the past, you may have made a stop at Bar Zingaro, the spirits section that connects his galleries in the Nakano Broadway mall in Tokyo. He now has his own line of sake to serve his customers with the recent release of a collaboration with NEXT5 Sake. Camilla d’Errico Coastal.com Eyewear Collection

Coastal.com recently released an eyewear collection that Camilla d’Errico designed with Derek Cardigan. The four frames all feature tiny slivers of some of the Vancouver-based artist’s manga-influence imagery, specifically her paintings Xiomara, Water Wheel, Neo New York, and Loveless Bird (two minimalist palettes & two with vibrant and saturated colors). Previews: Josh Keyes – “Overgrown” @ Archimedes Gallery

On Saturday night (June 25th), Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be opening a joint show with Eva Funderburgh entitled Overgrown at Archimedes Gallery in Cannon Beach. For fans of his work, the title immediately makes sense and the first few paintings that have been revealed certainly play on this theme. Also, starting at 10 am for those present at the gallery only, Keyes will make two new prints available – Return & L’apres-midi d’un faune (Afternoon of a Faun) – more details here. Since we first reported (in 2014) on Gary Baseman (interviewed) and his work with Coach, the American luxury fashion company has certainly further expanded their collaboration with the Los Angeles-based artist. One of the more recent spinoffs are a set of 10 unique hand-painted jackets & totes that have become available. These wearable art pieces were created to celebrate Baseman’s new Collaboration Collection with Stuart Vevers, the Creative Director of Coach. Discuss Gary Baseman here.
