Last Saturday, the long time running publication BLAB! completed its makeover with their reoccurring show at Copro Gallery – this time as BLABWORLD. The renamed anthology of comics, illustration, and graphic design from Monte Beauchamp focused on thematic works based on “scenes from THE HEREAFTER” and a nice slate of artists obliged with their unique interpretations. Another great group show is opening this weekend at the Copro Gallery. For the sixth time, the Los Angeles space will host a show featuring artists from BLAB!, the annual anthology of comics, illustration, and graphic design from Monte Beauchamp. Openings: Ryan Heshka – “Strange Powers 2” @ Copro Gallery

Ryan Heshka recently premiered a new body of works at Los Angeles’ Copro Gallery. Presented by BLAB! The show entitled Strange Powers (part 2) is an exhibit of the self taught Canadian artist’s fun style that brings back nostalgic feelings of Sci-fi super 8 films, cell animation, pulp comics & magazines from a generation past. Tomorrow night in Seattle, two artists we have our eyes on, Femke Hiemstra and Ryan Heshka will be opening a show together at the Roq La Rue Gallery. Femke hails from the Netherlands and will be bringing a new body of work entitled “The Bone Shaped Bone” featuring her imaginative paintings, often on found objects like the book seen above.
