This is called and it is a common

Pandora Jewelry is the hottest trend in Europe right now and Pandora finds it origin in the Greek myth about a woman called Pandora who was sent to earth with all worldly possessions and virtues in a box which was forbidden to be open. Hence the legend roots in the story of an inquisitive curious lady who opened that box to let out everything but Hope. So Pandora beads signify love and hope as they were left inside the box when rest flew away.. pandora […]

Publications: JR for NYT Magazine Walking New York Issue

On the cover of this month’s New York Times Magazine is a special project prepared by JR (interviewed) for their Walking New York issue. Focused on the issue of immigration as of late, the famous street artist decided to photograph recent immigrants walking down the streets of Nolita and in turn pasting their images on city streets, where they are often invisible despite there being approximately 3.1 million of them in NYC. The final chosen subject for the cover was Elmar Aliyev, a 20-year-old waiter at Old Baku, an […]

Fashion: Bäst, Paul Insect, and Rostarr for Cocurata

Artists Bäst, Paul Insect, and Rostarr have recently collaborated with a new fashion label, Cocurata, on their inaugural collection. Bringing an urban sensibility to the design, the new line entitled Extraction is a nice start to the company, founded by George Gorrow and George Benias. Their idea was to arrange a “direct exchange between artist and artisan – a street artist working with a jeweler, a sculptor collaborating with a perfumer or a painter creating bespoke, ready to wear pieces – that would result in artwork […]

Upcoming: Joram Roukes – “The Great Beyond” @ StolenSpace

Coming up on May 21st, Joram Roukes will be opening a solo at StolenSpace in London witha new body of work entitled The Great Beyond. The fresh series of surreal oil paintings explores ideas of exploration and escapism, perhaps inspired by the move by the Dutch artist from the Netherlands to Los Angeles in 2013. His style is almost collage-like with complex layers and juxtaposed composition, drawing viewers in with their own interpretations. Discuss Joram Roukes here.

Since the deadline for this project was quite short, the team had to find a faster production solution for this piece. The answer […]

StolenSpace is currently presenting a duo show with British artist Ben Turnbull and Spanish illustrative artist Ramon Maiden through May 15th. A self taught artist with a U.S. obsession, Turnbull learned his skill working with craftsmen and artisans. Back in 2006, the various firearms he produced encased in facsimiles of red fire alarm boxes bearing ‘In Emergency Break Glass’ were featured at the Banksy Santa’s Ghetto. Continuing his series American History X, the exhibition Smells Like Teens Spirit focuses on the lone teen shooter phenomenon that has occurred in the US […]

Ars Longa Vita Brebis features a new body of work using acrylic and spraypaint on canvas. Always looking for new techniques, with a bamboo stick or a spray can, Sowat’s style is sometimes understandable, with some secret words and messages appearing suddenly within the composition, sometimes abstract, mixing energetic lines with composed and precised […]

Created in three parts, the large table was assembled into an impressive finished piece. Discuss Li-Hill here.

Streets: Ron English (New York)

Over the weekend, Ron English (featured) made the most of his turn at the iconic Bowery & Houston wall in New York with a mural that was wheatpasted then hand finished with paint. The imagery chosen is a good representation of his work with the background being the American flag made up of modified company logos and slogans that speak to English’s satirical attack on consumerism, while the center features one of his most recognized surreal characters – the Temper Tot or “Baby Hulk.” Take a look at more photos and a […]
