Showing: Cleon Peterson – “End of Days” @ New Image Art

Returning to the site of his 2010 Los Angeles solo (covered), Cleon Peterson brought his hard-hitting imagery for his currently showing exhibition at New Image Art entitled End of Days. The collection of paintings feature a limited palette of black & white or black & red, making the brutal details all the more evident when rendered in a uniform color scheme. Check out this shadowy world of violence influenced by the writings of Jung and Nietzsche for yourself before the show closes on April 12th. Discuss Cleon Peterson here.

Releases: Josh Keyes x Tiny Showcase – “The Hermit” & “Migratory Soul” Prints

Currently until Tuesday, March 11th, Tiny Showcase will have two prints available for purchase individually or as a set from Josh Keyes (interviewed). Although the originals were painted for different shows, the two pieces seemed destined to end up together due to their synchronous imagery. Studio Visits / Previews: Hysteria @ Maison Bertaux (London)

Ahead of their upcoming exhibition opening on March 12th at the legendary patisserie and gallery, Maison Bertaux, in Soho, London, we met up with the all girl collective HYSTERIA in their Hastings studio. Made up of Collagism, Aida Wilde and Shuby, the UK based collective creates colourful artworks  featuring eggs, legs, bananas, bunnies, cats, cupcakes, jewellery and bold iconography using mixed media collage and screenprinting techniques. Upcoming: Gary Baseman – “Play With Us Or Else” @ Vinyl on Vinyl

Tonight (March 7th) in the Philippines, Gary Baseman’s (interviewed) will be opening a show at Vinyl on Vinyl entitled Play With Us Or Else. Along with paintings, art toys, and costumed fun, the Los Angeles-based artist will also be signing the catalogue from his first museum retrospective, The Door Is Always Open, held at the Skirball Cultural Center last year. Streets: Andrew Schoultz @ SXSW

After attending this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii and completing a large collaborative mural for the event, Andrew Schoultz headed to Austin, Texas for his next project. Juxtapoz & Converse have teamed up to bring the Los Angeles-based artist to SXSW where he painted another big wall, this time with a sweet tank embellishment.
