Preview: MODE 2 – “New Drawings and Other Works” @ Le-Fix Gallery

A couple of days ago, the Le-Fix Gallery in Copenhagen opened a showing featuring New Drawings and Other Works from MODE 2 (interviewed). One of the legends of the European graffiti scene, the provocative painter put his erotic and sensual imagery on display for his Danish fans. POW! WOW!: 2013 Video Review & 2014 Preview

Releases / Benefits: Camille Rose Garcia – “I Will Be There When You Fall” Print

Camille Rose Garcia (interviewed) recently released a new limited edition through Roq La Rue to partially benefit Bat Conservation International. Fitting in perfectly with her recent imagery featuring the winged creature, I Will Be Here When You Fall will be produced in a run of 100, be sized at 9″ x 12″, and cost $250 with $130 of each print going to the conservation efforts. Basel Week Miami ’13 : Tracey Emin – “Angel Without You” @ MOCA (Miami)

We made sure to stop by the Miami Museum of Contemporary Art while in town for Art Basel Week to take in an impressive collection of works from Tracey Emin. Entitled Angel Without You, the exhibition includes the Why I Never Became a Dancer video purchased in 1998 by the MOCA, the first American museum to acquire work from the UK-based artist. Openings: Mike Leavitt – “Empire Peaks” @ Jonathan LeVine

Last month, we stopped by the Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York to check out a new showing from Mike Leavitt (interviewed) entitled Empire Peaks. Showing alongside Riusuke Fukahori’s work, which also had a three-dimensional feel to it, the new body of work from the Seattle-based Leavitt featured a mashup of historical figures and Star Wars characters, something we gave you a glimpse of in our earlier studio visit. Basel Week Miami ’13: NADA Fair (Part I)

Another satellite fair we visited yesterday at Art Basel Week in Miami is the event put on by the New Art Dealers Alliance. The 11th Miami edition of the NADA fair included more than 90 galleries and was held at the Deauville Beach Resort. Their growing list of exhibitors include some familar names like The Hole, Andrew Edlin, Marlborough Chelsea, and Bill Brady KC (seen above with some nice Michael Manning paintings). Basel Week Miami ’13 / Streets: “Women on the Walls” (Wynwood) – Part I

For those street art fans down in Miami for Art Basel Week, you may want to head over to the Wynwood district for the new outdoor mural project. Women on the Walls features work by Aiko (seen above), Miss Van, Fafi, Maya Hayuk, Lady Pink, and Olek in the Wynwood Walls compound.
