Upcoming: Tim Biskup for “MAS: ATTACK” @ LA Mart

Tonight (January 26th) in Los Angeles, LA Mart (1933 S. Broadway) will be hosting a group exhibition entitled MAS: ATTACK (Mutual Appreciation Society). The one night event features a large roster of artists including Tim Biskup who will be contributing the pieces seen above including the 48″ x 48″ painting entitled Dawn which seem combines old and new techniques. Videos: New Adobe Campus

For artists out there who read AM or those in the design field, Adobe is definitely a company they are familiar with for their series of computer programs including Photoshop and Illustrator. Rapt Studio, who designed the interiors, recently invited artists in to the Adobe campus in Lehi, Utah to do installations and murals including a piece from El Mac that we recently featured. Art Focus: Jane Edden

Just like artists we have covered in the past like Polly Morgan and Kate Mccgwire, English artist Jane Edden utilizes birds for her materials and medium of choice in her work. This recent series collectively entitled Ornithomorph (on view at Flowers Gallery through January 26th) consists miniature jackets created beautifully from hundreds of tiny feathers. The small sculptural pieces are Edden’s way of “our attitudes to nature and the intention behind our consumption of natural materials.” Take a look at more examples below… Via Designboom.

Streets: Interesni Kazki (India)

As you saw from one of our Streets: World Roundup articles earlier this month, Waone from Interesni Kazki has been traveling through India. It looks like he was able to keep painting as photos a new mural entitled Sadhu have been recently released. The wall located in south-west region of Kerala on the Malabar coast features locally influenced imagery on topics like meditation and the peacock dance that is common in the region.  Check out some more detailed shots below… Discuss Interesni Kazki here.

Last week, the National Arts Club in New York hosted the opening of their Nocturnes: Romancing the Night group exhibition. For this showing, a selection of artists including Odd Nerdrum, Steven Assael, Marshall Arisman, Bo Bartlett, Jefferson Haman, Alexandra Pacula, Richard Scott Young, Alexander Roloff, Martin Wittfooth (above), and Jason Yarmosky were asked to submit their painting that depicted night scenes or subjects blurred in a veil of twilight – a nocturne painting. Releases: Mike Sutfin – “Servants of Sauron” Print

For those Lord of the Rings fans out there, tomorrow (January 24th) at a random time, Mike Sutfin will be releasing a new print entitled Servants of Sauron through Mondo. Takashi Murakami x Hajime Asaoka Watch

Takashi Murakami, whose enormous studio you recently got a glimpse of, has announced a new watch he designed with independent Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka. Entitled Death Takes No Bribe, the timepiece features some of Murakami’s signature flower and skull motifs.
