This Saturday, the Jonathan LeVine Gallery will host duo exhibitions from two accomplished artists from Australia. Jeremy Geddes’ (interviewed), whose work you see above, will make his US debut solo with a new body of work entitled Exhale. Openings: Shepard Fairey – “Sound & Vision” @ StolenSpace

Londoners have already seen evidence of Shepard Fairey’s (featured) presence on the streets, but tonight (October 19th), the StolenSpace Gallery will be putting a new body of work from the prominent American street artist on display entitled Sound and Vision. Shep’s first exhibition in London Town in five years will see him create art with one of his greatest inspirations in mind – music. Videos: “JR: The Wrinkles of Los Angeles” for MOCAtv

Back in March, we covered extensively French photographer JR’s canvassing of Los Angeles with his iconic imagery as part of his Wrinkles in the City project. Set Up / Preview: Gary Baseman – “Nightmares of Halloween Past” @ KK Gallery

This Saturday, October 20th, the KK Gallery in Los Angeles’ Chinatown Arts District will be holding their debut show featuring Gary Baseman’s  (featured) Nightmares of Halloween Past. The new body of work is an ode to Baseman’s favorite holiday and includes a series of haunting original paintings, special edition prints, installations and videos. Also on display will be his his vintage Halloween photo collection dating back to 1915 and there will be a special performance by Nightmare and The Cat. Photo credit: theonepointeight. Signings: Andrew Hem – “Dreams Towards Reality” Book Release @ Nucleus Gallery

This Saturday night (October 20th, 7-10pm) at the Nucleus Gallery, Andrew Hem (interviewed), will be hosting a signing and special edition art exhibition for his new book – Dreams Towards Reality. Baby Tattooville ’12: Michael Hussar – “Wunderland”

As we continue our coverage of this year’s Baby Tattooville, we turn our attention to Michael Hussar’s Wunderland, which was a feature for the art retreat for the fourth straight year (see 2011). Those familiar with Hussar’s two night event quickly settled in while newcomers casually perused. As in the past, all of the action took place in Hussar’s suite. Models posed as muses deep into the night for Hussar and other artists to draw. Discuss Baby Tattoville here.

Streets: Nuart Festival 2012

At the end of last month, Norway saw another edition of the annual Nuart Festival roll around. And as usual, another stellar lineup of artists stopped by to work on public art projects for local and traveling street art fans to enjoy. Participants Aakash Nihalani, Dolk, Eine, How & Nosm, Jordan Seiler, Mobstr (above), Ron English, Niels Shoe Muelman, Saber, Sickboy, The Wa also found time to create some indoor installations and murals for an associated group showing. AM recently attended the opening for Greg Lamarche’s solo exhibition at the Joshua Liner Gallery. Entitled Timeless, this show brought together numerous elements of Greg’s style of deconstructing and reassembling text and graphics into a new visual language. As we’ve seen in the past like our studio visit to his New York laboratory, Greg dipped into his private stock of archived clippings which he has compiled over a lifetime to transform simple fonts & vintage papers into a masterful geometric visuals.
