A couple of weeks ago Pangeaseed.org wrapped up another praiseworthy project on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico – Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition. For this event that took place from July 20-28, they invited a group of international artists to help raise awareness for the conservation of the ocean.  Similar to what they did with POW! WOW! Rewind: April 8 – April 13

Keeping things going, we have another Rewind summary for you this week. First up is origami artist Sipho Mabona, who recently folded a life-sized elephant from a since giant sheet of paper. He and his team of nearly a dozen people worked over four weeks to create the 10 foot tall sculpture. Upcoming: Thinkspace – “LAX / TXL” & Project M/4 (Berlin)

Coming up on May 17th, a group show curated by Andrew Hosner of Thinkspace will open in Berlin as part of Project M/4 (also see M/3) with Urban Nation. After bringing you extensive coverage of this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, it’s time to recap the rest of murals that we didn’t have time to focus on. POW WOW ’14 & 1xRUN Prints & Show

The annual POW! WOW! art retreat in Hawaii starts this weekend and 1xRUN will be on site to work on a special show at Loft in Space / Fresh Cafe set to open on February 14th. They have also partnered with Pangea Seed, a local non profit, to exhibit prints from their archives and their new Sametan figure customized by over 30 artists.
