Releases: Joe Ledbetter – 12″ Mutant Bunny (Hand Painted) Part II

Several months ago, we brought your attention to the first set of hand-painted mutant bunny sculptures from Joe Ledbetter. The LA-based painter and art toy mogul has not released the next five of what will be an eventual total of 40. The 12″ figures (sculpted by Pretty in Plastic) are priced at $1500 and should be the crown jewel in the collection of any fan of Ledbetter’s three-dimensional work. Openings: Kenichi Yokono – “Rise of the Underground” @ Mark Moore

Last weekend, alongside Jeremy Fish, the Mark Moore Gallery also featured the work of Kenichi Yokono. The last time we had an opportunity to take in a large body of work from the Japanese artist, it was 2009 and we were at Art Basel Miami week. Rise of the Underground featured more of his signature carved woodblocks and it was a joy to examine his intricate details close up. Streets: El Mac (Barcelona)

Gifted street muralist El Mac is at it again, this time in Spain. This new piece was painted on the side of the Montana paint factory (a brand that he has used many times over the years) in Barcelona. Based on his model Lacheln, the wall done in a palette limited to black, gray and whites, and is a nice contrast to an adjacent mural by Os Gemeos. More photos after the jump…
