Congratulations to contributing photographer Brandon Shigeta as his ARTCUBE installation for Little Tokyo Design Week (LTDW) was a smashing success. AM recently caught the opening of a very unique show entitled Olson Olson Recine & Ass at New York’s Nyehaus. Sounds kinda like a law firm right? Well, that’s the point as this group show was titled by a father/son duo Steve & Alex Olson. The central theme of exhibition was the wheel, so whether it was riding a skateboard or motorcycle, the artists Phil Frost, Curtis Kulig, Yaniv Evan, Bob Recine and the previously mentioned duo have always been rolling in perpetual motion. A little while back, we brought you some photos from the Hennessy x KAWS bottle release party. In the video above, the Brooklyn based artist discusses the project on camera, but more importantly, the footage allows viewers to catch a glimpse of more of his recent work. When we visited Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) recently prior to her show (covered) at Merry Karnowsky, we saw her pre-signing some of her next timed release prints. The complete details for Charlotte have now come out and it looks like August 14th will be the release date. As most of our regulars know, we have been following Shepard Fairey’s (featured) excursion into Copenhagen for a series of murals (part 1, part 2, and part 3) leading up to his showing at V1 Gallery. Square Enix and the Wooster Street Social Club presented a mini charity exhibition recently centered around the video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Artists such as Estevan Oriol, Sam Flores, Patrick Martinez and Jeremy Fish created game themed posters for the event, each with a small edition of 20 with proceeds benefiting art education.
