It seems that POW! WOW! Hawaii gets more ambitious each year with the plethora of quality local and international artists participating growing as a result. Last week, the first POW! WOW! Taiwan wrapped up successfully as invited artists finished public works throughout the capital city of Taipei. With the main event based in Hawaii (see 2014), it looks like the crew behind this annual art retreat will be branching out to different parts of the world. This week’s Rewind summary article of videos features a wide range of subjects. Leading things off is some behind-the-scenes footage of body artist Emma Hack’s depiction of a car crash with the help of painted human bodies (via Juxtapoz). The project was commissioned by the Motor Accident Commission road safety campaign in Australia and involved 17 people. Blek le Rat opened up his latest exhibition, 60/30 Saturday at 941 Geary. The title of the exhibition represents his 60th birthday and 30 years of being an artist and celebrates a career that has heavily influenced the street art being put up today. The show consists mainly of large canvases featuring worked backgrounds and his signature stencil work, with a few collaborations with artists such as Hush and APEX in the mix.
