Continuing to riff on his BFF character, KAWS just announced the upcoming release of his SEEING by KAWS sculptural edition that doubles as a light. Consisting of alloy, ceramic, LED light and mixed media, the 37 x 17.4 x 18.6 cm figure comes signed and numbered (run 0f 250) and will be available on May 6th (10 pm EST). Ahead of the May 7th reveal of his upcoming SEEING/WATCHING permanent art installation (seen in below) curated by AllRightsReserved at Changsha International Finance Square in China, KAWS will be releasing an assortment of associated merchandise. Releases: KAWS – “BFF (Pink)” Figure

Starting tomorrow at 10 am (EST), KAWS will be releasing the pink version of his BFF vinyl figure thru his website. Also available at that time will be the black colorway, and for those completists out there, the MoMA design store will have all three colors (blue, black, and pink) at their physical location as well as online starting tomorrow. Releases: KAWS – “BFF” Vinyl Figures

Following up the unveiling of his BFF statue in Bangkok last year (covered), as well as plush versions in blue and black, KAWS will be releasing vinyl versions of the figure tomorrow (October 18th). The blue version can be purchased starting at 10 AM EST online at MoMA and at its two NYC shops while the black iteration will be available on KAWSONE.com starting at 12 PM EST. KAWS Releasing Remaining Stock Of “BFF” Plush (Black Version)

For those who missed the original blue colorway of KAWS’ BFF plush (covered) in Thailand, there was another chance with the recent slate of black versions that were released in conjunction with his exhibition in Texas (covered). KAWS x Nike: New York Made // Stanton Street Courts

Nike recently unveiled their collaboration with KAWS that kicks off their New York Made campaign. The Brooklyn-based artist designed the graphics for the playing surface for Stanton Street Courts (In Sara D. Roosevelt Park in Manhattan’s Lower East Side), two side by side full basketball courts. Openings: KAWS – “BFF” @ Central Embassy (Bangkok)

A couple of days ago, Central Embassy in Bangkok unveiled the latest large-scale sculpture from KAWS, standing 8 meters tall outside their complex. Produced with the help of curator AllRightsReserved, the event also featured a plush version of the figure, which looked to be a cross between Elmo & The Cookie Monster, remixed the the Brooklyn-based artist’s double-x eyes and skull & cross bones. Along with this, to the delight of his fans, there was also an exhibition of limited edition prints as well other associated products for sale.
