Streets / Recap: Urban Nation // Project M/9 (Berlin)

Continuing their longstanding public arts program, Urban Nation in Berlin recently completed their ninth edition – Project M/9. Curated by JUSTKIDS and StreetArtNews, the event this time hosted Borondo (seen above), Fafi, Bicicleta Sem Freio, Askew, 1010, and Eron as they painted walls in the capital city with “Colors” as the theme. POW! WOW! Hawaii ’16 / Streets: Recap (Part 2)

After a first look at some of the murals for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii, here is a recap of most of the remaining public works created for 2016. A crew of international and local artists, mostly through the course of a week, left their mark in and around the Kaka’ako district in Oahu with their distinctive imagery. POW! WOW! Hawaii ’16 / Streets: In Progress

Starting this week, artists have been hard at work painting murals for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii. Beautifying the streets of Kaka’ako in Oahu with their imagery, the participants get to enjoy the tropical weather and throngs of fans as they leave their mark at the annual event. Here’s a look at some of the work in progress including a huge piece from Audrey Kawasaki (seen above). Recap / Streets: Unexpected (Fort Smith)

Recently, we shared with you a mural that D*Face (interviewed) completed for the Unexpected public arts event in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Curated by Just Kids, artists Vhils, Roa (seen above), Maser, Ana Maria, Bicicleta Sem Freio and Askew were also invited in to paint walls in the former real western town’s downtown area. Streets: World Roundup (Aug 4 – Aug 24)

With the return of our Streets: World Roundup feature, we first want to bring your attention to a new mural from Blu in Sardinia, Italy. The wall he painted once again showed his skills with large-scale imagery while working around architectural features of his surface. Also, the upside down toy soldiers are consistent with the Italian street artist’s penchant for politically charged public works.
