Tomorrow night in San Francisco, Thinkspace will be taking over Hashimoto Contemporary with a group exhibition entitled LAX / SFO. Nestled deep in the foothills of the Cascades, Casey Weldon paints diligently to finish up several pieces for his solo show Novel Relic, opening at the Roq la Rue Gallery in Seattle on August 7th. LA Art Show ’14: Littletopia

Last week when AM stopped by the LA Art Show, we made sure to pay a visit to the special Littletopia section curated by Red Truck Gallery. Featuring an array of artists and art that is seldom seen at the event, this part of the fair saw a healthy and steady stream of visitors. Participants included galleries like Sloan Fine Art, Breeze Block, La Luz de Jesus, Last Rites, Roq La Rue, Spoke Art, Thinkspace, and Varnish Fine Art. Openings: “Supersonic Electric Invitational 2” @ Spoke Art

Last Thursday evening, Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco hosted the opening of the 2nd Annual Supersonic Electric Invitational to a packed house with many of the 32 artists in attendance. The show is curated by Zach Tutor, who founded and runs the Tumblr-based contemporary art blog Supersonic Electronic, by choosing some of his favorite artists who he felt are innovative, dynamic and compelling. Teaser: Casey Weldon – “Groty” @ Gallery 1988 (Venice)

Tomorrow night (December 8th) in Venice, California, Casey Weldon will be presenting a new set of works at Gallery 1988. Groty will be the first solo show in Los Angeles for the Brooklyn-based painter and will feature more of his surreal portraiture that we have enjoyed in various group shows up to this point.
