With The Provocateurs set to open tomorrow (July 31st) at Block 37 in Chicago, some of the street artists involved have been hard at work getting up around town, not the least of which was Shepard Fairey, who curated the massive group exhibition. Coming up on July 31st at Block 37 in Chicago, Shepard Fairey will be curating a massive group exhibition that reaches across all genres. Upcoming: Andrew Schoultz Handpainted Skateboard Show @ Uprise

This Saturday (Jan 4th, 7-10pm) in Chicago, Andrew Schoultz will be opening a special show featuring hand-painted skateboards. Held at Uprise Skateboard Shop, the 10 custom decks sound like they will be priced very reasonably at $300-$500 with the proceeds going to benefit After School Matters, a non-profit organization that offers local high school teens innovative out-of-school activities. We had a preliminary look at the now open mall with the installations and distinctive work of Jen Stark & Daniel Arsham. A couple weeks ago, we shared with you plans (arranged by The Arts Initiative & Primary Projects) underway to make the new Fashion Outlets of Chicago into a place where shoppers could enjoy making their purchases as well as enjoy a little art at the same time. Streets: POSE x Dabs Myla (Chicago)

Straight off his show in New York (covered), POSE is back on the streets doing what he does best. This time he’s repping The Seventh Letter along with Dabs Myla in Chicago for Pilsen’s Art in Public Places initiative. Just one of the many murals as part of the project in the 25th Ward, the distinctive style of the three artists certainly brightened up the area. Photo credit: Alderman Danny Solis & the artists. Last month in Chicago, the Rotofugi art toy boutique and gallery hosted all new works from Luke Chueh (interviewed) which was collectively entitled I Am Your Plaything. As we knew when we visited Luke’s studio, the paintings would be great success seeing that the attendees would be both toy and art aficionados, areas in which the LA-based artist has made a name for himself. This Friday night, art toy boutique and gallery Rotofugi will be hosting the unveiling of new works from Luke Chueh (interviewed) in a show entitled I Am Your Plaything.
