After a successful inaugural exhibition (covered), beinArt will be presenting a joint show starting April 30th featuring Chris Mars, Naoto Hattori, and Matt Dangler (interviewed). Entitled 3, the exhibition will include the dark narratives of Mars with work influenced by his experiences with his brother’s mental illness, Hattori’s psychedelic creations, and Dangler’s surreal creatures. Last weekend in Los Angeles, alongside Robert Williams’ amazing new exhibition (covered), a group show celebrating 20 years of Juxtapoz also opened to the public. Curated by Andrew Hosner from Thinkspace and Gary Pressman from Copro Gallery, the showing featured artists, emerging and established, who have graced the pages of the trailblazing magazine. Tonight at the Copro Gallery, human oddities, anatomical wonders, and freaks will be on display at the third beinArt Collective group show, Anomalies, at the Santa Monica showspace. Tonight, besides Ewelina and Genevive Zacconi’s joint show (previewed), the Copro Gallery will also be hosting a group exhibition entitled Genesis to Revelation. Artists were asked to re-interpret the religious symbology and icons from thousands of years ago about creation and the apocalypse in their own special way. Opening tonight at Clifton’s Brookdale in LA will be a tribute show for David Lynch’s Twin Peaks. Earlier this month, Last Rites Gallery in New York hosted “Lead Poisoning”, a group show that included a surprisingly strong list of participants. Artists like David Stoupakis, Eric White (interviewed), Glenn Barr, Ron English (featured), Chet Zar, Esao Andrews (interviewed), Chris Mars, Greg Simkins (interviewed), Robert Williams, Brian Despain (interviewed) and many others contributed drawings to exhibition.
