Previews: “15 Year Anniversary Show” @ Thinkspace Gallery

A lot have galleries have come and go in the last 15 years in our niche of the art world, but one constant has been the Thinkspace family. Tirelessly promoting their artists with shows at their Culver City location, with collaborative exhibitions with different galleries nationally and internationally, with participation in art fairs around the world, by plugging their artists into mural projects and street art festivals, and perhaps most importantly by garnering institutional support, the gallery has become one the most prominent leaders in […]

Previews: Cinta Vidal – “Viewpoints” @ Thinkspace Gallery

This Saturday night (September 15th), Cinta Vidal will be presenting her new solo show at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. Entitled Viewpoints, the exhibition features the Barcelona-based artist’s wonderful gravity-defying and Escher-esque imagery. Spanning complex architectural compositions, the natural world, as well as clusters of people, pets, and furniture, Vidal’s imaginative paintings draw the eye in. The viewer begins to trace the different perspectives that are interconnected in each piece, trying they hardest to resist turning their heads sideways or upside down to match each vantage point. Streets: World Roundup (June 2017)

It’s been a long time since our last Streets World Roundup so we won’t be able to catch you up with all the murals we have been enjoying the last year or so. We can however share what caught our eye in June though. Up top we have a mural from Eduardo Kobra in Carrara, Italy with a very unique placement. Painted in the famous Carrara quarry where Michelangelo and so many other renowned Italian artists sought marble for their works, the new 12 x 20 meter […]

Streets: Cinta Vidal / RAD Napa Project

Following recent works from Felipe Pantone (covered) and Natalia Rak (covered), Cinta Vidal has just completed her contribution to the RAD Napa project (curated by Thinkspace and sponsored by The Napa Valley Wine Train). The piece from the Spanish artist featured some of the architectural imagery and play with perspective that she has become known for. Take a look at some in-progress photos as Vidal worked track side as well as some video footage below… Photo and video credit: Birdman Photos. Discuss Cinta Vidal here.

Openings: Cinta Vidal – “Gravities” @ Thinkspace

A couple weekends ago at Thinkspace, new paintings from Cinta Vidal collectively entitled Gravities were unveiled in their project room. The small selection of works featured her signature gravity defying globe like structures and their inhabitants. There was also a piece with a field of floating furniture which was mirrored by similar imagery on a wall mural the Spanish artist painted for the exhibition. Photo credit: Birdman Photos.
