Releases: Todd James – “Opening Ceremony x Spring Breakers” Collection

For fans of the American cult director Harmony Korine’s movie Spring Breakers, you may be interested to know that Opening Ceremony has released collection of apparel based on the new film. Last week, we attended Joshua Liner’s opening of his new Chelsea gallery with a group exhibition entitled Direct Address. The expansive ground-floor space was filled with a impressive collection of works by The Clayton Brothers, David Ellis, Evan Hecox, Jean-Pierre Roy, Kris Kuksi (above), Richard Colman, Stephen Powers, SWOON, Tomokazu Matsuyama, Tony Curanaj and others. Basquiat’s Ex-Girlfriend Reveals Major Trove of Unseen Works

An interesting collection of works from Jean-Michel Basquiat is about to be made public by his ex-girlfriend Alexis Adler. In 1979, the still unknown artist began painting the walls and door of her East Village home which she smartly preserved until now along with notebooks, postcards, painted clothes, photographs, drawings on yellow legal paper, and other ephemera. We’ve been long time followers of Matt Small here at AM, so we read news of a new two person show in London with anticipation. On March 22, Milk Studios in Hollywood was the site of the VIP opening preview of Charming Baker’s solo exhibition Lie Down I Think I Love You. CASIS Mission Patch ARK1 by Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey was recently commissioned by CASIS (the Center of Advancement of Science in Space), set up by Congress to manage the National Laboratory on the International Space Station, to create a mission patch. The piece for ARK1 (Advancing Research Knowledge 1) featured elements of some of Shep’s iconic design elements as well as an abstracted form of the ISS.
