For this year’s Life Is Beautiful arts and music festival, JUSTKIDS / Charlotte Dutoit once again put together a worthy roster to add their unique talents to the outdoor vistas of downtown Las Vegas. Streets: Crystal Wagner // UNIQA Art Lodz (Poland)

Following up on an amazing collaboration between Etam Cru and Robert Proch in Poland, Crystal Wagner was the next artist invited in by UNIQA Art Lodz to beautify the city. The new installation (created from wire armature, rip-stop water proof and UV protective nylon, cable ties) for the urban art program curated by Michał Bieżyński (of Lodz Murals) is entitled Hyperbolic and looks like it’s devouring the building. Openings: “Space//Squared” @ White Walls Gallery

Last month, White Walls Gallery in San Francisco opened a group exhibition entitled Space//Squared. Curated by Sven Davis, the showing was a followup to an event last year in Portland (covered). This time around, participating artists were again asked to contribute artwork in a 10 x 10″ format. Openings: “Wider than a postcard” & olive47 – “bonita bonita” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Breeze Block Gallery opened their huge group show Wider than a postcard (previewed) alongside the first solo show in their new gallery 2 space – olive47’s bonita bonita (featured) a couple of weeks back to a packed Portland crowd. Over 400 individual works went into the postcard show with 200 artists providing postcard sized works. On the back of his Space//Form group exhibition last year (covered), Arrested Motion’s Sven Davis is working with Breeze Block Gallery in Portland again on another huge group event entitled Wider than a postcard. AM came across Crystal Wagner’s work just recently and since we saw images of her beautiful and complex installations, we’ve been looking forward to seeing what she would present for her solo exhibition Surface at the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L.
