As we mentioned in our preview, the show consists of artists selected for an upcoming book of the same name highlighting contemporary abstract painting and themes of spiritualism and mysticism. See a preview image from each of the artists, after the jump.
What do you get when you put three artists together over Halloween weekend and let them all work on one painting together? A pretty intense collaboration… Often times when artists work on the same canvas, what initially may have seemed like a good idea may not turn out as well as one would hope. Discordant styles, varying familiarity with different mediums, and differing artistic visions can all be detrimental to the final result. We have witnessed much of the maneuvering and politics of this interaction […]

Fresh off his “Amused Loon” show last October at Joshua Liner, Damon Soule returns to his former stomping grounds with a new body of work. Entitled “Same Loud No“, Soule’s triumphant return to the Bay Area (his last show was in ’06) boasts a bevy of geometrics, prime numbers, acid casualties and other-worldy existence. AM swung by the Fecal Face Gallery on opening day, check out the pictures after the jump.
